Thriving Together: A Year of Learning, Leadership, and Fun

At Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School, student life extends beyond the classroom, with events that promote academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement. Throughout the school year, students participate in numerous activities—from intramurals and cultural celebrations to literary events and leadership programs—all designed to enhance their skills, creativity, and enthusiasm. These events not only bring joy and encourage social interaction but also inspire students to develop teamwork skills and appreciate diverse cultures.

Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School recently held its annual Intramurals, an event aimed at promoting student well-being and campus engagement. Intramurals are a valuable part of the school experience, fostering physical and mental health, social interaction, skills development, and campus involvement. Through friendly competitions in various categories, students can improve their teamwork, discipline, and resilience while strengthening bonds within the school community.

The Grade 9 students also organized the Kasinagan Festival, which honors the patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Pilar. This event highlights the deep cultural and spiritual significance of the festival, allowing students to engage in a meaningful expression of their heritage. The celebration serves as a reminder of faith and unity within the community, nurturing a sense of pride and belonging among students.

In addition to these major events, our school, Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School, hosted several engaging activities aimed at fostering both student growth and the growth of others.

Reading Month was celebrated to cultivate a love for literature and enhance literacy skills. Activities such as literary icon presentations and Sabayang Pagbigkas (choral reading) encouraged students to explore the beauty of storytelling and reading.

Teachers' Day was a heartfelt tribute to the dedication and hard work of all teachers. Students prepared performances and special messages to express their gratitude.

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Encampment provided GSP-girls with opportunities to develop leadership and survival skills through outdoor activities, teamwork challenges, and more.

The Hip-Hop Dance Competition served as a creative platform for Grade 10 students who are passionate about dancing, allowing them to showcase their talent, discipline, and stage presence.

The Literary Icon Celebration honored the contributions of writers, inspiring students to appreciate literature through various contests and presentations.

These events, along with many others, not only enrich student life but also instill important values such as teamwork, discipline, creativity, and cultural appreciation. Through these activities, Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School continues to nurture individuals, empowering them to excel academically, socially, and artistically.
