This global observance highlights the importance of teachers in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and advocates for better working conditions and respect for the profession. Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future. They are not just knowledge providers they are guiding mentors who impart values, inspire creativity, and cultivate critical thinking. As Nelson Mandela famously said, “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world,” and teachers are the ones who wield this weapon to transform lives and societies. Around the world, Teacher’s Day is celebrated with unique traditions that reflect cultural values. In India, September 5 honors Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher and former president. In South Korea, students gift carnations as symbols of respect, while in Mexico, schools host vibrant fiestas with music and piñatas. In the Philippines, celebrations include orchid corsages, student performances, and role-reversal activities, where students step into their teachers’ shoes for a day. These different celebrations are a testament to the international appreciation of the value of teachers and their life-altering work. A school that takes care of their teachers just like how teachers took care of their students is a top-notch campus. Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School celebrated Teachers’ Day through the initiative of SSLG and supportive guidance of office staff and SSLG adviser. As a typical student, we deeply appreciate how our school—DVBRMHS—celebrated Teachers’ Day like a milestone. As students, we too feel valued when teachers are honored. It made us feel valued and motivated to learn, in the way of thinking that special torchbearers are teaching us the wisdom of truth. Teachers’ Day celebration is a wave of appreciation that reached the shore of every teacher and student‘s heart. Every school day now feels like a celebration of inspiration because of the aforementioned event. Teachers and students both inspire one to aim for knowledge and create a closer learning environment.  Teachers’ day is more than just  an opportunity for us, the students, to express our gratitude for the teachers. It also a way to strengthen the student and teachers bond. These shared experiences, such as performances and tributes, leaves lasting memories that improves the relationship. This allows us, to openly express gratitude for our teachers’ hard work and dedication, making them feel valued and motivated. It also instill the value of giving back, inspiring us, students to show kindness and appreciation beyond the celebration. And, lastly, it nurture and enrich educational environment where we and teachers thrive together.

We celebrated teachers day by gathering the student while bringing their gifts to the teacher. The celebration starts with a heartfelt song dedicated to the teachers that is sung by the students. Afterwards, the students walk around the school, handing out their gifts for their teachers. Lastly is that every grade level performed a unique performances in front of the teacher. The event was a wonderful way to express our gratitude to the teachers. Here are some fun and creative ways to celebrate teacher’s day. One idea is to create a memory book filled with pictures and moments that you made with your teacher. We can also celebrate teacher appreciation week with daily activities such as giving appreciation card or giving gifts. Another idea is to host a teacher’s talent show, where teachers can showcase their hidden talents. This will not only entertain the students but also give teachers a chance to have fun. Giving recognition awards to outstanding teachers is another great way to celebrate teachers’ day. Awards such as “Teacher of the Year” or “Most Inspirational Teacher” will motivate and encourage them to continue doing their best.

A highlight of the day was the communal singing led by Dr. Victoria, followed by students presenting thoughtful gifts to their teachers. Adding to the excitement, there was a raffle specifically for teachers, and a message wall where students expressed their gratitude and love for their educators.
