LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN

LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN

In response to Division Memorandum No. 157, s. 2024, the school has formulated a strategy to address the challenges posed by the extreme heat index experienced recently. This narrative report outlines the current situation and the proactive measures undertaken by the school administration.

The extreme heat index has led to discomfort and difficulty in concentration for both students and teachers. Many classrooms have become unbearably hot, making it challenging to maintain an optimal learning environment. This situation not only affects academic performance but also poses health risks to individuals, especially considering the prolonged exposure during school hours.

In alignment with Division Memorandum No. 157, s. 2024, a change in schedule has been implemented, effective immediately. Classes will now commence from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm, during the cooler hours of the morning, to mitigate the adverse effects of the extreme heat on both teaching and learning processes.

To provide relief to teachers and ensure the continuity of instructional activities, a new working arrangement has been introduced. Following the six-hour school schedule, teachers will be permitted to work from home for the remaining two hours. It is important to note that, teachers are not required to submit Accomplishment Reports for the tasks to be completed during these two hours at home. This adjustment aims to optimize productivity while safeguarding against the adverse effects of the heat.

This initiative will be closely monitored by the school head and department head to ensure accountability and effectiveness in implementation. Regular evaluations will be conducted to assess the impact of these changes on both academic outcomes and the well-being of staff and students.

Non-teaching personnel are required to report to the office from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, adhering to the 8-hour work. Their presence is essential in maintaining the smooth functioning of administrative and support services, ensuring the seamless operation of the school despite the challenging weather conditions.

The implementation of these measures underscores our commitment to providing a conducive and safe learning environment for all members of the school community. By proactively addressing the challenges posed by the extreme heat index, we aim to uphold the quality of education and prioritize the well-being of both students and staff. Continuous monitoring and adaptation will remain integral as we navigate through these challenging circumstances, ensuring that our response remains effective and responsive to the evolving needs of our school community.
